..well two. one to see if it would help someone with their carrying task, but i guess it didn't, and then as a secondary thing to see if it might help me carry bulky packages up stairs...but i'm not sure how i'll attach such things to the pole or if it will navigate well in a stairwell....but if it doesn't oh well. i'm pretty that's not what it was designed to do :-)but as something with no moving parts it seems durable
